LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A 30-day extension has been granted for California students who require the whooping cough vaccine.
Gov. Jerry Brown signed the extension after the Los Angeles Unified School District had problems with vaccination deadlines and students enrolled in year round school.
District officials say some students were being taken out of class because they had not been vaccinated.
Students in grades seventh through 12th are required to get vaccinated against whooping cough and must provide proof before enrolling in class.
